Saturday was our first of two Aug. races in the series that Erika and I are running. Jer ran this one with me and coached me through. We finished in 19:44 chiptime and my goal was to place in the top five but I ended up sixth by half a step and less than a second. Jer was a great encourager and it was fun to race it with him. He finished a second or two ahead of me but with little trouble...As you can see, the race started and finished outside of the Panthers Stadium on Fanfest Day . The stadium opened later in the morning. We didn't wait to go in, but had fun outside with the fam and some friends.
Kids race: Aron and Ian look nervous lining up but it was really because Sir Purr, the Panthers' mascot was in front of them scaring them :)

And they're off!!

Elijah is very focused with his tongue out.

Olivia running hard

The boys with their milk mustaches and black eye marks like the football players

Isaac wasn't feeling so well but came to cheer us on with Nana, Papa, Scott, and Lauren.

Erika, Lauren, and me

Aron trying to smile with his milk mustache :)

Totally random for this post, but, Mom, our African violets are blooming like mad! They're so pretty and there must be twenty-five flowers in our little plant! I think you gave them to us just after we got married and have only had a few flowers in 9 years.

I love that you compete in races as a family! Something for the whole family to be excited about, set goals and encourage!
Holly & Jer,
The family that runs together. . .?
Wow, good race Holly, Jer & boys.
Wish we could have been there to watch and cheer you all on.
The violets are beautiful. They must like the light this year. Mine do best in certain windows.
Amy's officially 28 now. 2 parties later. Have a good night. Love, Mom & Dad
