Since Elijah turns 7 yrs. old during this school year, we needed to register in NC as an official homeschool. Choosing a school name is required, so while we were in the mountains camping, Jeremy and I were trying to come up with a name. Praying about it in the previous weeks, the only thing I kept thinking of was the lyrics to Come and Listen, by David Crowder Band. I thought it seemed odd. In the mountains, however, it is impossible to not see the beauty of our Creator, realize His greatness, and recognize how our core thirst is to be in communion with Him. Jeremy liked the name too, so we went with it: Waters Edge Academy. Our desire for our family is that our lives would increasingly become more like Jesus and would intrigue others to want to come, listen, and drink of the only water that will quench our deep thirst for life. School starts Monday :) The lyrics:
Come and listen, come to the water's edge, all you who know and fear the Lord.
Come and listen, come to the water's edge all you who are thirsty, come.
Let me tell you what He has done for me.
Let me tell you what He has done for me,
He has done for you,
He has done for us.
Come and listen,
come and listen to what He's done.
Come and listen,
come and listen to what He's done.
Praise our God for He is good.
Praise our God for He is good.
Praise our God for He is good.
Praise our God for He is good.
He has done for me,
He has done for you,
He has done for us.
Come and listen,
come and listen to what He's done.
Come and listen,
come and listen to what He's done.
